We’ve been getting tons of phone calls and messages about how to order Homecoming flowers so I thought it would be a good idea to make a quick blog post about how to order Homecoming flowers from Beautiful Blooms by Jen. We are the go-to place to shop for creative homecoming and prom flowers for all local high schools in Northwest Ohio and Southeastern Michigan.

There are three ways to order Homecoming Flowers.

  1. Order online at BeautifulBloomsbyJen.com. That being said, these can also be used as guidelines for pricing and ideas. We can change colors, flowers, etc if you find one you like and want to match your dress/suit colors.
  2. Call the shop at 419-517-8821 and one of our designers will help you pick the perfect option for you.
  3. Stop by Beautiful Blooms by Jen at 5646 Summit St. right in downtown Sylvania behind the Rite Aid. We have an entire bling bar that you can pick all the perfect accents to match your outfit.
    1. We start with a beautiful bracelet- This is a keepsake! You just cut the ribbons after the dance and the flowers pop off and you can wear the bracelet again!

    2. Then we pick the perfect ribbon to match or accent the dress.

    3. Then we pick the colors or types of flowers. We love when you let us be creative!
    4. Then we pick any accents like rhinestones, pearls, sparkly leaves, etc.

Our favorite thing you can do is answer for us what color is the dress and what color jewelry or accents will the female be wearing. Then we can design the perfect corsage or boutonniere and you don’t have to do any work!

We love to have at least 3 days notice for corsages and boutonnieres so we can make sure we have the perfect flowers available for you. But we are typically able to design a corsage or boutonniere even on the day of if you forget to order yours in the flowers that we already have available in the store.

We’re looking forward to designing the perfect flowers for you for such a memorable event!

I was so honored to be invited to visit You First by Grant Services this last week by one of my former Floral Design and Greenhouse Students, Tamnika. She is now the Community and Integration Manager there.

“You First by Grant Services LP, an agency certified by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disibilities, offers a variety of services to individuals living in Lucas and Fulton Counties.  Services include recreational activities, personal care, vocational opportunities and transportation. You First by Grant Services was founded in 2013 by CEO John Grant and his partners, Shawna Grant, Paul Grant, Charolotte Grant, Eric Bickford and Marie Bickford. The purpose of You First by Grant Services is to work alongside the individual and their support team and assist each individual with achieving his / her desired goals.”- http://www.yfbgs.com/

Your First by Grant Services offers adult day support, vocational rehabilitation, non-medical transportation and homemaker/personal care. I was invited to visit because one of their focuses is building job skills. I was asked to share how I began in the floral industry and a bit about what I do on a daily basis. Vans brought over the interested individuals to hear me speak.  I spoke at the location on Airport Highway and everyone was so welcoming. Multiple individuals shook my hand and welcomed me and one even wanted to play me a song on the piano!

If anyone else is interested in sharing about the job they love, Tamnika is looking for more people to speak. Please let me know and I’d be happy to connect you.

We had such a blast at the Beautiful Blooms by Jen, Fall Wreath Class! It was in conjunction with the Downtown Sylvania Association’s Downtown Delights.  We had 5 ladies and it was the perfect amount so we could all move around and design the wreath on an easel.

The class was taught by Manager, Colleen, since she is our silk specialist and Jen is about to have her baby.

...

The first step of our fall wreath was to add draping raffia.

...

Then we added silk greenery throughout to our grapevine.

---

Colleen demonstrates how to add the silk greenery to the grapevine wreath in our Fall Wreath Class.

....

Then we added gorgeous fall ribbon to the wreath.

...

I love watching everyone’s creativity!

.....

It’s so fun to see how everyone’s finished product turns out!

Two years ago, we began our Charity in Bloom program, as a way to give back to the community. It’s now time to apply to be one of our 2018 Charity in Bloom non-profits. Please see below.

October 2017 Charity in Bloom

October 2017 Charity in Bloom

To Whom It May Concern:

As a part of our community outreach to different non-profits, we have a program in place called Charity in Bloom.  Each month a different charity is chosen and will receive 20% of all the sales from a dedicated arrangement.  When the arrangement is sent out, it includes a card that shares information about your organization. This is an example: BBBJ Charity in Bloom October (1).

Please fill out the provided Charity in Bloom application if you may be interested and return to Beautiful Blooms by November 30th. Twelve organizations will be chosen in December, one for each month of 2018. Charity in Bloom Application

In order for this to be a successful program it is important for you to help us promote in any way possible like in your newsletter and website with the Charity in Bloom link and picture provided.  It is also shared on the Beautiful Blooms by Jen social media, email lists, blog and more. In return, we would like the opportunity to quote any of your upcoming events for any floral needs. Please contact Colleen at 419-517-8821 or colleen@beautifulbloomsbyjen.com with any questions.

Thanks,

Colleen Barnhart

We had such a blast at our fall Wine and Wellness in September. 11 ladies designed an arrangement from local flowers and then learned about Essential Oils from Mary Bryant, of Melaleuca, The Wellness Company. Oils that were discussed were lavender, lemon and Peace which is a Tranquility Oil Blend that includes tangerine, orange, patchouli, tans, elemi and German chamomile blue.

Our flowers were almost all locally grown flowers from Barnswallow Farms.  They included sunflowers, celosia, roses, snapdragons, ageratum, globe amaranth and explosion grass.

...

Traci and Ana made our class a Mother-Daughter night out. Ana is such a talented designer and I love watching her creativity bloom. Her designs are very zen because she even uses her stems in her design. Plus she is so sweet, she made her arrangement for her teacher at school!

...

These two ladies made the class a girls night!

...

I love the way every arrangement looked just a little bit different!

...

Mother-2 daughter night out! Love these ladies and how supportive they are of our classes!
