Styled Shoot at Nazareth Hall
So many vendors were involved in Episode 6 for the styled shoot!! It was so much fun!! Loren & Mary Beth ofAdore Wedding Photography planned all of the details for the styled shoot at Nazareth Hall. Megan, the Event Coordinator at Nazareth had mentioned to Loren and Mary Beth that the Gabriel ballroom hasn’t been decorated to it’s fullest potential for brides to see just how beautiful it can be. AIFD Announces 2014 PFDE Results
All of the 143 candidates that tested as part of AIFD’s Professional Floral Design Evaluation (PFDE) program were successful in their bid to become a Certified Floral Designer (CFD®) as bestowed by the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD), it was announced by Tim Farrell AIFD, CFD, AAF, PFCI, president of the Institute. SYLVANIA, OH (Toledo News Now) – The Downtown Sylvania Association is hoping to revitalize downtown in a number of ways. “I feel like the more people that are in downtown Sylvania, the better we’re all gonna do,” said Jennifer Linehan. Linehan, 28, is the owner of Beautiful Blooms by Jen, as well as the president of the DSA. Beautiful Blooms by Jen donates to Refurbish Lounge
Members of the Sylvan PTO decided to surprise teachers by renovating the teachers’ lounge. “We wanted to do something nice for Christmas for our teachers, ” offered PTO President Tiffany Townsend, who coordinated the project. “We decided that the teachers’ lounge was in need of freshening up and thought this would be a way we could show our appreciation for our teachers,” she reported. Southview Horticulture team places sixth in the nation
The Sylvania Southview Horticulture team placed sixth in the nation at the National Future Farmers of America (FFA) Floraculture competition in Indianapolis, Indiana, October 23-26. Representing Ohio was the Southview team of senior Paul Fisher, junior Jordan Shaffer, senior Corinne Schwallie, sophomore Allison Monnin, and junior Ian Fisher. The group qualified for nationals at the state competition last spring in Columbus, Ohio. See the article.

A Downtown Sylvania Association membership drive has been launched according to Jodi Cooke Barber of The Rock Garden and president of the new association. “We are asking downtown Sylvania business, property owners and residents to become part of this new association, which is the solid foundation for our downtown revitalization,” she said. Downtown Delights Promises to be a Fun-Filled Event!
Jennifer Linehan of Beautiful Blooms by Jen, 5646 Summit St., is planning a “Bridal Event,” with local wedding experts on hand to answer questions. The first 30 brides will receive a complimentary bag of free items and coupons. Mrs. Linehan will showcase her bridal arrangements. Other vendors include Bee for the Day, Belle of the Ball Videography, Candlelight Occasions, I Do Chair Covers, SYDS Bakery and UpperCase Designs. Brides will also be encouraged to visit other downtown merchants including JEM Photography, 5758 Main St., for more wedding planning help.
“Downtown Delights is a cooperative effort of all of the downtown merchants,” Ms. Cooke pointed out. “City officials have been very helpful and the chamber has been extremely supportive in helping to promote this event.”See the full article here.
Blooming Trees in Sylvania Signal Upcoming Downtown Delights Event
This year’s Downtown Delights shopping event held Thursday evening is timed perfectly with beautiful blooming trees that line the City of Sylvania’s Main Street where local shop owners are preparing for the spring retail festival that welcomes area shoppers to the historic downtown.
“This is a good time for people to come out and see the new shops and people,” said Jennifer Cummins Linehan, president of the Downtown Sylvania Association that holds the event twice a year. “And it is also a way for shop owners to thank customers that do shop with us.” Read the article here.
Presenters Show Career Variety to Timberstone Students
What do you want to be when you grow up? The sixth grade students at Timberstone Junior High School got a sampling of unusual and artistic jobs that are out of the usual realm of doctor or lawyer as part of the school’s community day.
Also at the school’s community day was Jennifer Linehan, the owner of Beautiful Blooms floral shop in Sylvania. She told students how her ability to design colorful floral arrangements turned into a full-time job with a shop of her own.
“One year I created the flower arrangements for 56 weddings,” Mrs. Linehan said. Read more here.
The start: Linehan fell in love with floral design after taking a horticulture class as a student at Southview High School; she never looked back, starting her own business in 2012.
