The wedding season has really surprised me this year. I have had brides who can’t contact/locate their photographers after their wedding and still haven’t received their pictures. There have been cakes lately that aren’t stacked straight on their tiers or frosting that has been smudged during transport and we’ve been asked by the cake company to fix it with flowers! Believe it or not, I had a bride who found out the week of her wedding that their reception hall had been double booked! Don’t let this happen to you!

Now I’m not saying that these brides didn’t, but please do some research before booking your vendors. I know there are many different companies out there for each wedding detail and it really will benefit you to talk to the vendors you have already booked. For example, if you already have a photographer picked out, ask them who they have been recently impressed with. Friends and family that have just gotten married can work too, but vendors do change over time and your opinion of a great vendor might be different than your friend’s. Many wedding vendors have a “vendor” link on their websites where they recommend others. We do this every weekend and as a professional, I would never recommend vendors I would not hire myself.

You research before making other large purchases in your life. Why not make sure to research for what is supposed to be the best day of your life?!

With three weddings this weekend, we have in 80 stems of dendrobium orchids, 90 stems of hydrangea and much much more! Check out how full my workroom is, along with the lilies that have spread into the family room. My house sure smells amazing though!

We cut in freesia, miniature calla lilies, bells of ireland, dendrobium orchids, hydrangea, roses, spray roses, oriental lilies, iris, lisianthus and assorted greenery and fillers today.

I just finished up the wedding for tomorrow so I’ll try to get those pictures up soon for you! Here are the BEFORE pictures though. Enjoy!

Are you coming into town for Easter or off for Spring Break? Call 419-367-0588 or email Jen at beautifulbloomsbyjen@yahoo.com to schedule your free consultation. BBBJ is now booking weddings for 2011 and 2012. A few dates may still be available for 2010.

I will be out of school (I teach floral design at a high school) from April 2nd-April 11th so I am wide open pretty much all day every day. We can find a time that works for you! Appointments are usually under an hour and are at a Panera closest to you since I work from my home.

Looking for ideas? Theknot.com has thousands of ideas for you! Feel free to email them to me using their “email to a friend” feature so I know what you like or don’t like! Beautifulbloomsbyjen.com also has tons of examples of things I have done in the past. I look forward to learning more about your special day!

Wouldn’t that be gorgeous in the entryway of your reception?

Check out these awesome lanterns from a wedding I was at over the weekend. The designer said he is able to deliver them and install them wherever your wedding is taking place. He can also match the lanterns to the theme of your wedding. Aren’t they great? The lanterns really added to the ambiance of the wedding reception!
