We are so excited to share that we were invited to participate in the Hancock Hotel Wedding Open House on Sunday! If you haven’t heard of it yet, it’s the new boutique hotel with 90 rooms and a Mancy’s restaurant. Mancy’s does all the catering and room service which is amazing! You have got to check this gorgeous new Findlay venue out!

We were asked to decorate their Junior Ballroom which is a beautiful ceremony space if you’d like to have your ceremony at the Hancock Hotel as well. Or this is a room available to be rented for bridal showers and smaller events. The drapery is so pretty that we used it as a backdrop for our altar. Rust and Lace Rentals provided us with this elegant buffet to design on.

Blush and white draping altar on a vintage buffet provided by Rush and Lace Rentals. A gorgeous alternative to flowers on either side of the altar.

This is a close up of the blush and white altar flowers and candles on the buffet from Rust and Lace Rentals.

Trio of floating candles and a hydrangea make a perfect accent to the aisle and then can be transferred to the ballroom for table centerpieces!

Beautiful Blooms by Jen is a luxury wedding and event florist located in Sylvania, OH. We deliver events to Northwest Ohio, Southeastern Michigan and beyond!

We are so excited to be offering two Easter Centerpiece classes this year. One is for kids and one is for older kids and adults. The class will be taking place at Beautiful Blooms by Jen at 5646 Summit St. Sylvania, OH 43560.

For our Kid’s Easter Bunny Centerpiece Class, stop in between 1 and 3pm on Tuesday March 27th or March 29th and decorate a bunny vase and plant a bulb plant inside the vase to create the perfect Easter centerpiece and gift! The class will not take the full 2 hours, just however long it takes your child to do the project.

$15 per project includes all materials and instructions. Kids are welcome to design more than one. Please call 419-517-8821 to reserve your child’s space so we have enough supplies.

We’re always asked what age groups our classes are for… This class could be any age group. I just feel the younger the child, the more assistance the child will need from an adult. I feel like my 3 year old could do this class, his just might not resemble a bunny very closely. : )

On the Saturday before Easter, we will design an Easter Bunny arrangement, similar to the pinterest picture below. This class is for older children and adults. Class fee of $60 includes all materials needed and instruction so you have a beautiful Easter Centerpiece!

Class size is limited, so please call 419-517-8821 to reserve your space!

Space is limited. Please call Beautiful Blooms by Jen at 419-517-8821 to reserve your space.  Don’t want to make your own? You can order an arrangement designed by one of our fabulous florists by clicking this link.

We love to host classes of any kind. One of the Beautiful Blooms by Jen talented designers will teach the class, and all classes include all tools and supplies needed to make a gorgeous arrangement. We can also custom design a class to fit into your budget. Most classes are in the $35-75 range. Please call Beautiful Blooms by Jen at 419-517-8821 to schedule your class! They are perfect for holiday parties with employees and girls nights out!

Beautiful Blooms by Jen Signature Line

We had a blast at the Rock the Veil Bridal Show on Thursday night. We were so excited from just returning from our conference so the creative juices were flowing! That was one of the big reasons we signed up to participate in the Rock the Veil Bridal Show and Colleen actually convinced me to buy these super fun metal pieces while we were at the conference because she fell in love.

We love to participate in bridal shows because it is our chance to design whatever we want and have some fun. Colleen chose to go with a tropical beach theme since the show was at Maumee Bay State Park Lodge.  Wouldn’t that be super fun for a Maumee Bay wedding? This gorgeous linen is from Meredith Party Rentals.

Tropical Green Centerpiece idea by Beautiful Blooms by Jen at Maumee Bay State Park Lodge.

We designed gorgeous tropical leaves and orchids coming out of the lanterns with woven grasses and hanging green orchids on the sides. The we even decorated the votives with twine and seashells to tie our tropical beach theme together.

Then Colleen designed this super sweet bouquet which would be perfect for a flower girl, mother of the bride or groom, or even for a bridesmaid!

We LOVE Maumee Bay State Park weddings and we were so excited to see that they are working on some beautiful renovations right now! Can’t wait to see the finished product!  Kendra, the event coordinator is fabulous too!

We can’t wait to start meeting with all the brides and grooms we met on Thursday and hope everyone loves our green tropical lantern wedding theme! Can’t you picture one of these lantern trios up at the altar or in the entryway at a reception? It would be such a wow! They are now available for rent from Beautiful Blooms by Jen.

If you would like to schedule a free consultation to discuss wedding flowers with the only flower shop with not only one Certified Florist, but two, call 419-517-8821 or email jen@beautifulbloomsbyjen.com. We can’t wait to learn more about your wedding flowers!

The Beautiful Blooms by Jen Christmas centerpiece class was fabulous!  We had so many different interpretations of our centerpiece and we love it when people get creative!

This floral design class was packed as we headed into holidays, especially since this arrangement was sure to knock their stockings off!

• Sarah explained to everyone the different techniques to making a full and lasting arrangement.

• Traci and Ana always have fun at our classes!  The are a creative dynamic duo!

Untitled design (27)

•These ladies were hard at work making sure their pieces turned out perfectly… and they did!

• The winter greens make the arrangements so full, long-lasting and fragrant. Nothing beats fresh pine!

• The arrangement had a little  more traditional look with greens, red flowers, plaid ribbon and a candle.  They were a beautiful addition to everyone’s tables!

• These girlfriends had so much fun and look how beautiful the centerpieces turned out!

Thank you to The Cinnamon Stick for allowing us to use this space as well as indulge in coffee, pies, and other treats!

We love to host classes of any kind. As the only Certified Florists in Northwest Ohio, Jen Linehan, CF, CFD or one of our other talented designers will be your class instructor and all classes include all tools and supplies needed to make a gorgeous arrangement. I cannot believe that January 2018 marks the beginning of year number 7 for full retail, Beautiful Blooms by Jen!  After three years of working out of my house, we got the keys on December 31st and while I was finishing up Amanda Caig’s New Years Eve wedding, my family moved all of our things from where we were working out of Bumble, and into 5646 Summit Street. It was just a block over.

Last wedding before we had our very own retail space! Photo by Sarah J Photography.

It seemed so large when we bought it! I only had one employee at the time and I was still working full time as a floral design teacher at the Natural Science Technology Center for Toledo Public Schools. As soon as school was out each day, I would zip over to the shop and continue to help Meghan, my manager in painting, cleaning, whatever needed to be done. We opened our doors immediately, despite the building being a mess because we already had customers needing flowers. Meghan would just design in whatever room wasn’t being worked on as we had new floors installed, lights installed, etc. We were so fortunate to have understanding customers! Check out below to see some photos of our early shop.

That year we had 77 weddings and I couldn’t believe how fast our day to day deliveries and business grew! By that spring we had hired more employees and I was able to retire from teaching. It was a total dream come true since I had wanted to open my own flower shop since I was a sophomore in high school. Teaching wasn’t ever the plan, but was a way to pay the bills to afford a shop.

Seven years later, I have an amazing team of 6 employees, am able to take a relaxing maternity leave because I totally trust them. Colleen and Sarah have worked for BBBJ for over 5 years and Hailley for over 3! That is incredible considering that we have only been open for 7! I was honored with the title of 2017 Certified Florist of the Year, Hailley became a Certified Florist and we have won the Knot Best of Weddings for 10 years and Wedding Wire Couples Choice Awards 10 times!

As I sit reminiscing today about everything we’ve accomplished in such a short time, I can’t help to think I couldn’t have done it without such an amazing team of employees, past and present, awesome customers who let us be creative every day and a supportive Downtown Sylvania.

We have exciting things planned for 2018! Can’t wait to share them with you!

For this blog I (Sarah) will be guest writing while Jen takes maternity leave to spend time with sweet Jaxon and his big brother Cooper.

Just recently we hosted our Thanksgiving Centerpiece design class at The Cinnamon Stick since we can’t fit 20 plus people in our small little flower shop. I have floated around and help to assist in design classes for the past couple of years, but for this last class Jen and Colleen gave me the opportunity to teach my first one! When I say “gave me” the opportunity, it was more like “spring it on me 15 minutes before the class started”. Anxiety alert, especially when this was my first time teaching and in front of so many people. If I may toot my own horn, I am happy to say it ended up going great!

Check out the pictures below to see what everyone created!

For all of our classes we give basic guidelines and tips, then everyone is able to use their own creative flair to create a custom centerpiece.

-Sarah Carver, one of our floral designers, helping to lead the class.

The first stem was to begin by greening in.

Then we added each flower, one by one.

Check out the gorgeous finished product!

More finished products. I love how they all turn out just a little different!

This table all looked the exact same!

We have a Christmas class coming up on December 21st, which is at full capacity. However, we did add another class for the 22nd with 9 more spots available. If you are interested give us a call at the flower shop, (419)-517-8821 and we can get you signed up.

We had the pleasure of being a part of “Holidays in the Manor House” for 2017 at Wildwood Metropark in Toledo, Ohio. It is two week event where interested groups apply with their ideas and if chosen, you are given a room. This process begins right after the year before.

After much brainstorming by Beautiful Blooms by Jen Manager, Colleen, and an interview process, we were given the Tap Room to transform into a fun holiday party spot. Let’s just say- we love SPARKLE as you can see when you enter the room!

Colleen decided to have a Gatsby feel in the room with sparkles, feathers, crystals and balloons.

Can you imagine being at this party?

This was a perfect spot for our couple to dance and have a photo taken. Thank you to Mager Designs for providing all the lights to make our vision complete.

…Shall we dance…

Large martini glasses filled with pearls, sparkle, diamonds and feathers spill out to add an extra pop to our sequin table cloth and chair covers provided by I Do Chair Covers. Thank you to Meredith Party Rentals for supplying the tables and chairs to make our “party” happen.  We love the glitter gold and silver chair sashes that Stone Ridge Golf Club let us borrow. It was a vendor team effort and we loved collaborating!

I can only imagine the parties the Stranahans had in this beautiful home!

We even had a beautiful vintage tinsel tree to really take you back in time.

The bar was trimmed ready for a party with it’s own champagne tower.

Loved adding this fun confetti balloon garland to tower over the martini bar.

…The balloons were so pretty with the lighting provide by Mager Designs.

Make sure you stop by and see all of the beautiful rooms that are decorated up for the holidays. Colleen and Mary Beth really worked hard on this project and we think it turned out super fun! We’ve loved seeing everyone’s pictures of our room on social media. Thanks for all the tags!

The Manor House is open daily 10am-8pm until Sunday, December 17th.  It is great family fun with hot cocoa, s’mores and mule rides on the weekend.

Thank you again to all the help from our wonderful vendors!

I had so much fun with Sarah and Mike from the beginning! I loved that they were having their reception at the Valentine and wanted to incorporate their love of movies into their centerpieces. They brought in their rose gold movie reels and we came up with super fun designs together.

Amanda is my gorgeous new sister in law and Steve is my handsome younger brother. We had so much fun designing their wedding flowers because Amanda was the most laid back bride ever! She showed me her color palette, showed me some things she liked and then let us do our thing! We were so fortunate that there were so many gorgeous locally grown flowers available on their wedding date as well!

A close up of this fabulous bridal bouquet. Aren’t those dahlias amazing?!  It’s not very often that an entire room full of florists oo and ahh over a flower… This was one of those time that it happened!
